taking inspiration from original franchise poster releases
For our restored film, we wanted to keep branding as close as possible to the original visual themes. Taking a cue from other 70s posters, we merged bright colors with a B/W still, cleaned the title text, and emphasized the lead actor while adding in vector art. The result is a modernized Blaxploitation poster, able to evoke both the 70s and present day themes.

After creating the look and specific poster of a Blu-ray film, wrap art needs to be assembled for multiple vendor templates, following TFD branding guidelines.

For this project, animation of the DVD menu, using After Effects, was also completed.

During creation of the physical Blu-ray and DVD assets, we also conduct a pre-sales marketing campaign. From a print piece in a B2B DVD distribution magazine, to promotion through social media channels, assets are created to represent the film, build hype, and, most importantly, generate sales.

During my time at The Film Detective, I executed similar work for 7 special campaigns. My work also included marketing post-release date for Blu-ray and DVD sales, creating campaigns that pushed fans into our streaming apps and website where films debuted, and designing promos for social, including GIFs, to build hype among viewers.
